Drum roll... 🥁
Stone Butch Blues by Leslie Feinberg, a semi-autobiographical novel that follows Jess Goldberg, a working-class butch lesbian navigating life in the pre-Stonewall era. Through Jess's story, the book powerfully reminds us of queer history and politics, while portraying an extraordinary protagonist full of longing, vulnerability, and deep emotion. 💫
📖 Your mission: Read Stone Butch Blues before we meet, bring your thoughts, questions, theories, favourite quotes, and an answer to the question: "How did this book make me feel?"
Snacks will be there but feel free to bring your own to share!
Get ready to dive into the brutal and real parts of history, get moved, and have your mind blown by this literary classic.
Don't worry if you couldn't finish the book on time or couldn't find the time to read it. You can still join us, listen in, share your thoughts, and enjoy the company.
Whether you devoured every single page or didn't even make it past the front cover, you're always welcomed here.
