Queer Museum Riga: Stories from queer objects | Community Event

Join us for the next event about queer archiving, in which we’ll discuss and, above all, we’ll have a hands-on exploration about queer archives and possible practices related to them.

🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ Together, we’ll reflect on why and how the marginalized communities have the need to preserve their own histories and how personal objects and memories can become part of a shared queer community archive.

For this, we invite you to bring an object that you consider queer and/or that you would like to see in a queer archive. It can be anything: a Pride pin, a book, a photograph, a piece of clothing, a letter, or simply an everyday object that holds a queer story or memory for you. The object will be used during the workshop, but after you’ll take it back with you.

🦸🏽This event is for anyone interested in queer history, community stories, and creative ways of preserving and sharing personal experiences, no prior knowledge needed.
