On June 9th at 19:00 to celebrate Pride month, we will be screening a selections of shorts provided by @queercinema4palestine to express our queer solidarity with Palestine.
āQueer Cinema for Palestineā (QPC) began as an alternative ethical space for filmmakers who pulled or refused to show their work in an Israeli government-sponsored film festival.
QPC is offering the free short film community screenings for the fourth year in a row to counter Israel's pinkwashing campaigns and highlight Israel's ongoing genocide against Palestinians.
This yearās program focuses on the work of queer, Palestinian, and allied artists in historic Palestine and diaspora, as well as showcasing the language of cinema and its crucial role in the struggle for liberation.
The short films are mostly in English and will have English subtitles.
The event will happen at the new location of community centre āMaiznÄ«caā: ValÄrijas Seiles Street 12 in Riga.
After the screening we invite you to stay for an informal discussion about what we have just seen.
