Maps of Solidarity: Conference on queer feminist activism in the Baltics and Central Asia
The conference Maps of Solidarity explores intersections and divergences in queer feminist activism in the Baltics and Central Asia. Both regions are post-socialist spaces that currently exist in significantly different political and economic contexts, all of which influence civil society structures and everyday life. Together with colleagues from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan, we would like to introduce each other—and the audience—to the specific challenges and focus areas of our work. Our goal is to identify points of particular tension and opportunities for cross-border solidarity and cooperation.
