It’s about centering voices\nthat are too often unheard\, remembering the value of reading together\, and\nb uilding and supporting our community.\n\nThe LGBT Library is already the b iggest in the Baltics\, but can we make it\nbigger? 👀 Can we create a lend ing system? Can we collaborate\, organize\ndonations\, and build events to gether?\n\nWe say yes 💛 What about you? Are you coming along?\n\n\nIN THE PLOT IS QUEER\, YOU CAN JOIN AND SUPPORT THROUGH:\n\n⚬ Workshops\, gatheri ngs\, and book club meetings\nThroughout the project\, we’ll read books to gether\, host discussions\, and\ndedicate different months to specific top ics and conversations. We’ll also\norganize creative writing workshops and Living Library events. The Living\nLibrary events will create opportuniti es for people to share their own stories\,\nas well as stories and experie nces our community needs to hear\, making\nparticipants the “books.” \n\n⚬ Building a volunteer community for the LGBT+ Library\nTogether\, we aim t o support the development of the only LGBTQIA+ library in Riga\nand Latvia \, located in LGBT House. Volunteers will help create systems for book\nle nding\, cataloguing\, and building structures that allow people to visit\, read\,\njoin activities\, and contribute\, Volunteers will also help mana ge book\ndonations\, connect with NGOs and youth centers\, and support the creation of\nvideos\, monthly resources\, book recommendations\, and othe r community materials\nconnected to the themes we explore.\n\n⚬ Creating a closing festival and queer book fair\nAt the end of the project\, we’ll o rganize a queer book fair featuring queer\nwriters\, artists\, publishers\ , and bookstores presenting and selling their work.\nThe festival will als o include donation spaces\, discussions\, panels\, and\nworkshops\, servin g as a conclusion to the project.\n\nWe would be so happy to have you join any of the activities and share your\nvoice\, thoughts\, and experiences with us. In T he Plot is Queer, you can join and support through:

⚬ Workshops, gatherings, and book club meetings
Through out the project, we’ll read books together, host discussions, and dedicate different months to specific topics and conversations. We’ll also organiz e creative writing workshops and Living Library events. The Living Library events will create opportunities for people to share their own stories, a s well as stories and experiences our community needs to hear, making part icipants the “books.” 

⚬ Building a volunteer community for the LGBT+ Library
Together, we aim to support the develo pment of the only LGBTQIA+ library in Riga and Latvia, located in LGBT Hou se. Volunteers will help create systems for book lending, cataloguing, and building structures that allow people to visit, read, join activities, an d contribute, Volunteers will also help manage book donations, connect wit h NGOs and youth centers, and support the creation of videos, monthly reso urces, book recommendations, and other community materials connected to th e themes we explore.
